Potential apprentice, placement student or graduate, you’re eager to get started on your path to us. But how do you do that? What happens next? And how can you make sure that your application stands out from the crowd? Welcome to the world of Murphy applications.
You’ll find the academic criteria for students and graduates and for apprentices on their programme pages, but when it comes to the people we look for, it’s the same across both programmes. In fact, they’re the same characteristics we ask for from everyone, across the Murphy family.
Sometimes things get tough. There are lots of ups and downs in an industry like ours: projects can change; you can run into some pretty big obstacles (like, say, elephant remains on your building site). So we need people who aren’t fazed by that: you get your nose down and you work hard, whatever comes your way.
We support our apprentices and graduates, and we recognise their successes, but nothing’s going to be handed to you on a plate here. If you want a promotion, you’ve got to work for it, and if you want to learn something, it’s up to you to pursue it.
But above all, we need people who believe in our values.
We look after people, their communities and the planet – no matter what
A ‘can do’ attitude delivers high quality projects on time and on budget
Collaborative working gives our clients a seamless, integrated service
Innovation is integral to our success
Transparent, honest and professional – we act with integrity, embrace diversity and our stakeholders trust us
This might be your first ever job application, so we want to keep things straight forward for you. Whether you’re applying for our graduate programme or our apprenticeships, here’s how things will go:
